When 7 years old, when playing in the street (London or Liverpool) he was kidnapped by a ship captain, brought to Boston and sold to a tailor for seven years. He was impressed into the French and Indian War as an English officer's servant. He found his way to Goshen, CT (war ended 1759). No record of his life and children is to be found, but there is a tradition that he had a large family some of whom made their way west.
